The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress celebrates 4 years of activism against state sponsored homophobia and continues to fight for universal LGTBI+ rights. The heart-wrenching message communicated through the beauty and drama of the dress sparked international interest. We have been fortunate to display the dress all over the world, from New York to South Africa, from Madrid to Seoul. What started as a creative idea, sparked conversations and inspired the world. Four year ago, during the 2016 Amsterdam Pride, the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress saw the light.

From July 27 to August 5, the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress was shown where she is at home. The Amsterdam Museum, together with COC Amsterdam organized the “Shakespeare Club”. The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress was shown throughout the pride week in the museum where we organized a Gallery Talk with LGBTI + refugees on 31 July.
