INCORPORATION TO THE AMSTERDAM MUSEUM’S COLLECTION, AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS
On August 2nd 2017, the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress was officially donated to the Amsterdam Museum. Since, the dress is part of the City of Amsterdam’s official history and narrative. The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress Foundation will continue to travel and showcase the dress, raising awareness about state-sponsored homophobia around the world. Since the dress’ incorporation to the Amsterdam Museum’s collection however, it has received museum status, which has strengthened its international legitimacy and cause.
